The Delaware County Genealogical Society’s new 2013 Disappearing Delaware calendar is now available. The subject this year is ‘Century Farms’ around the county – farms that have been recognized as Century Farms by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and a couple more that are eligible for this honor. These farms have been in the same family for more than a hundred years and are scattered throughout the county.

They include the Kiracofe farm on Moody Rd, the Colflesh and the Dennis farms on Bowtown Rd, the Jobrack farm on Porter-Central Rd, the Newhouse farm on Ostrander Rd, the Watkins farm on Hoskins Rd, the Buell farm on Cheshire Rd, the Freeman Farm on Lewis Center Rd, Jumper farm on Jumper Rd, the Donovan farm on Berlin Station Rd, the Honeter farm on Jacktown Rd, and the Walnut View (Fisher) farm on Creek Rd.

Included are a few pictures of the ancestors as well as the farms and a brief history of the family. These calendars are a fund raiser for our society and can be purchased at the Myers Inn on the square in Sunbury, Freeman’s Market at 6146 Lewis Center Rd, and from our volunteers in the History Room at the District Library on Thursday 10-4:30, Saturday 9-1, and Sunday 1-4:30.
